According to Tripadvisor’s Seasonal Travel Index for Fall 2020, Atlantic City is one of the top travel destinations this fall, ranking third in the nation. The resort destination provides diverse offerings, outdoor activities, and relaxing amenities for visitors, which are increasingly attractive to travelers as they recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tripadvisor is the world’s largest travel platform. Its findings are based on year-over-year growth for domestic hotel bookings. Tripadvisor’s data shows trends for travel this fall such as beach destinations, short as well as last-minute trips. In addition, travelers value safety and cleanliness. Atlantic City casinos are employing comprehensive, wide-ranging protocols to ensure the health and safety of employees, guests and fellow residents.

Atlantic City is integral to New Jersey’s tourism economy. The most recent Economic Impact of Tourism in New Jersey report indicates that the Garden State saw a 4.9 percent growth in tourism in 2019, in large part due to Atlantic City. According to the report, visitor spending in the state increased 3.8 percent or $1.7 billion, and “2019 growth was bolstered by a full year of the new casinos in Atlantic City, which opened their doors in June of 2018.” In addition, last year Atlantic County ranked first in visitor spending and saw the most person-trips of any county in the state with 23 million person-trips.
