The Atlantic City Metropolitan Business and Citizens Association honored Tropicana for its willingness to continue to invest in its property with its Community Spirit Award at its 27th annual awards gala. Steve Callender, Tropicana’s general manager, was scheduled to accept the community award on behalf of the casino. “Not only does the Tropicana provide excitement to its guests, they are deeply rooted in the community, including partnerships with the United Way, CASA for Children, Salvation Army, HERO Campaign, Tara Miller Foundation as well as supporting numerous charities in the area,” the association said. The awards gala took place inside a ballroom at Tropicana Atlantic City. Miss America 2018 Cara Mund made an appearance along with more than 900 other attendees.
