The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City will open June 28, Hard Rock International Chairman Jim Allen announced Wednesday at a media event in New York. The open date is firm, Allen said, and the confidence is reflected in the fact that the website is live and taking reservations.
During the announcement at the Hard Rock in Times Square, Allen told attendees that, despite Atlantic City’s consolidation of casinos in the recent past, the company has the financial strength to grow the business at a slow pace.
“We can weather any storm,” he said. “We can be very patient and let the business grow. We think that is so important — let the business grow.” Allen compared the new hotel and casino to existing casinos in Atlantic City, including the flooring — which has traditionally been carpet. The Hard Rock will mimic Borgata in having a stone flooring, Allen said.
