Statement from Casino Association of New Jersey regarding NJ Senate’s Passage of Atlantic City Economic Package
(Atlantic City) – The Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ) commends the Senate on the passage of the Atlantic City economic revitalization legislation (S2572, S2574-S2576). We appreciate the commitment and leadership of Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Senator Jim Whelan, who were instrumental in devising the legislation and bringing key stakeholders together.
Atlantic City needs stabilization of this manner, which is vital to protecting thousands of jobs and investment capital in the market. This legislation will also help enable and stimulate further diversification, investment and growth in Atlantic City’s economy, which is important to businesses, employees and families throughout the region.
We urge Governor Christie to act swiftly to sign this legislation into law so all members of the community can continue the important work of revitalizing and strengthening Atlantic City.
