NJ sports betting: Wagering doubles to $184 million in September thanks to NFL

When New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement Director David Rebuck told an industry conference in Nevada earlier this week that the state’s sports betting numbers for September were “stunning,’’ he was not kidding.

In all, some $184 million was wagered statewide during the first full month of sports betting during the NFL and college football season according to numbers released Friday, up from $94.6 million in August.

The September revenues include $105 million from online wagering. That equates to gross revenues of $24 million at the sports books, located at Atlantic City casinos and race tracks. That’s up from $9.2 million in gross revenue in August.
