Casino Association of New Jersey Statement on November 2021 Gaming Results

The Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ) released the following statement regarding the November 2021 Gaming Results that were released yesterday:

“The November gaming results continue to reinforce the fact that stability is needed for the Atlantic City economy, and the amended PILOT program is essential to South Jersey’s stabilization.

“The COVID-19 pandemic continues to negatively impact the Atlantic City land-based casino industry, which saw a 7.6 percent decline in revenue in November 2021 compared to November 2019. While only two properties showed increases, the other seven showed a decline of 22 percent from pre-COVID levels.

“The November 2021 gaming results underscore the fact that land-based gaming revenue is down and not improving. Failure to pass the PILOT legislation will have a further detrimental impact on the land-based casinos, which are still recovering from this unprecedented pandemic. It is urgent that our legislators pass the amended PILOT program to create stability for our industry, protect the industry’s 20,000 jobs, generate increased revenue for Atlantic City and Atlantic County, stimulate investment and growth, and help our industry continue to recover from the COVID-19 crisis.”
