Casino Association of New Jersey Partners with AtlantiCare to Offer Free COVID-19 Vaccinations

The Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ), in partnership with regional health care provider AtlantiCare, today announced that Atlantic City casinos are hosting COVID-19 vaccination events at casinos across Atlantic City.

“The Atlantic City casino industry remains focused on the health and safety of its employees, guests and fellow residents. These pop-up vaccination clinics provide our employees and their families another opportunity to get vaccinated on site at our casino properties,” said Terry Glebocki, president of the Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ). “Through this latest effort, we will continue to support Governor Phil Murphy’s goal of vaccinating 4.7 million adults in New Jersey by the end of June.”

The pop-up vaccination clinics opened this past weekend at several Atlantic City casino properties including: Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel & Casino, Caesars, Ocean Casino Resort and Tropicana Atlantic City. There will be additional vaccination events held over the next several weeks at Atlantic City casinos including Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City and Resorts Casino Hotel on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Golden Nugget Atlantic City and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City will host their first vaccination events on Sunday, June 6, 2021. Vaccinations are available to those 12 and older. No appointments are necessary.

This latest partnership follows a March 2021 announcement in which CANJ, AtlantiCare and UNITE HERE Local 54 launched an effort to vaccinate as many of the city’s hardworking casino employees as possible by Memorial Day.

“We are pleased to continue vaccinating local hospitality workers in collaboration with the CANJ and UNITE HERE Local 54,” said Margaret Belfield, MSN, RN, chief operating officer, AtlantiCare. “By expanding our vaccination on-site clinics into the casinos we are making getting a vaccine even more convenient as we all work to protect our community and those who visit Atlantic City and the surrounding region.”

“This has been a challenging year for all of us, but we are ready to move forward and rebuild and recover from this unprecedented pandemic,” continued Glebocki. “We are truly grateful for the ongoing support of the Murphy Administration, AtlantiCare, UNITE HERE Local 54, our frontline team members and first responders who have worked together with us every step of the way to help vaccinate our team members, guests and fellow residents. As we look to turn the page on this difficult chapter, we will always remember how everyone came together in the best interest of Atlantic City.”
