Atlantic City Casinos Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month to Raise Awareness and Promote Early Detection

Atlantic City, NJ The Atlantic City casino industry is proud to announce its support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month to raise awareness about breast cancer and promote early detection. Throughout the month of October, the casino industry will host fundraising events, mobile on-site mammography screenings for team members and participate in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Walk  to advance early detection, education and support services for women.

“Every year the casino industry comes together to support a cause that is so near and dear to our hearts,” said Mark Giannantonio, president, Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ). “Breast cancer is a disease that impacts all of us, and thanks to medical advancements and research supported by fundraising efforts, we are seeing improved treatment options and greater survival rates. This awareness campaign helps to save lives, and we are honored to be part of it.”

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), in 2024, more than 360,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer. However, thanks to advancements in early detection methods and support, the chances of survival are increasing. When caught in its earliest, localized stages, the 5-year relative survival rate of breast cancer is 99%.

Throughout the month of October, guests will notice that the Atlantic City casinos will be draped in pink lighting in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. From selling pink drinks where the proceeds go toward breast cancer awareness, and participating in fundraising walks, the entire casino industry is rallying to support this important cause:
