Atlantic City casino revenue up slightly in July

Revenue at the seven remaining casinos in Atlantic City was up slightly in July over the same month last year. New Jersey’s resorts increased their gaming revenue by 3.9 percent in July and 9.8 percent in the first seven months of the year, according to data from the state Division of Gaming Enforcement. The casinos earned $267.9 million in July from gaming and have made nearly $1.6 billion so far this year. Internet gaming revenue, up 26.6 percent in the first seven months, accounted for $142 million of the total. “It is clear that business is building for the seven operating casinos and I am optimistic it will continue to grow in the months ahead,” Matt Levinson, chairman of the Casino Control Commission, said in a statement. Levinson noted every remaining casino has seen an increase in gaming revenue this year.
